We live in moments of micro-seconds…
Not long moments, but brief slices of times as quick as a second. Put them together and you make up your day, or lifetime. Life may be well represented by your accomplishments spoken at a memorial service, but the joy that you find in daily living is found in brief slices…
Have you laughed so hard till you cried? Micro-moment! Have you been joyful and in one brief instance you experience petrifying fear when some one scares you? Micro-moment.
Life is made up of these micro-moments. Ups and downs. Joy and sadness. Fear and relief. In the similar way that a specimen is sliced into paper thin slivers to view on a microscope… That’s your microsecond of life.
Yet, I love for a lifetime. And the loves that I experience are slivers of the entire whole. Can I enjoy each slice independently? I don’t think there’s enough time!
It included various fishes, worms and other bugs to dissect, and a microscope to view the slivers from the dissection. The knife, pins, and tweezers were all part of the kit. I remember trying to slice things down slimmer and slimmer so I could see the makeup of the smallest piece.
Makes me think for a moment… Can you dissect the very smallest moments of your life and whittle down to size the fears, angers, doubts and confusion? When these things are at their smallest size you have the power to overcome them much more easily.
It is easier to overcome the negatives of micro-moments when they are whittled down to manageable sizes…
The night is a manageable size when slivered out to micro moments!
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. (Psalms 30:5 NKJV)
