Faith Walk… Not Sight Walk

Have you ever struggled with your next step?

Especially in the dark? Or when feeling rushed? Or even when your strength is ebbing…

How you choose to live in full faith even when you feel lost or blind is  great definition of this scripture:

For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV)

Can you chose to walk even when you are unsure of direction or the very next step? When you wait to see the ending before taking your first step then you will never launch forward!

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Still, there is a deeper thought shared by Paul in his letter to the Christians in Rome. Our walk is not a blind path. Others have gone on before and left us with a path to follow.

“…also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had…” (Romans 4:12, NKJV)

Even again to the church of the Philippians led by the local bishops and deacons.

“Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.” (Philippians 3:17, NKJV)

And again to others… 2 Thessalonians 3:9, 1 Timothy 4:12… You see? We are a continual example of a faith walk everywhere we go, and to every person we are seen by. A “faith walk” is not a “sight walk”. If others follow us by what they see then we are giving them an example of a faith walk that is seen by them. Their’s is a sight walk. (2 Corinthians 8:21) They will need to build their faith so they can lead the life we are talking about so they can be an example to even more…

So. To your circle of influence. Continue walking by faith and lead others into a faith walk!
